Here we are only 15 minutes’ drive from the sea and some of the first fine beaches you come to, as you drive down the Tuscan coast. Not far away are the famous vineyards of Bolgheri, while further inland, in terms of culture, there are a number of small medieval villages to visit in the region, including the beautiful, ancient towns of Volterra and San Gimignano.
Villa Ocra is one of nine properties located on an estate that extends over several hundred hectares, scattered over hills and valleys. The properties range from old farmhouses and converted barns to the main villa, all of which have been recently restored and renovated. With the intention of providing guests with quality accommodation in complete privacy, each house has its own swimming-pool and private garden, with a 360° view over a countryside, in utterly peaceful surroundings. While each house is separate, a number of services are also available for guests, for those who wish.

Villa Ocra is the 'villa padronale', or the estate owner's residence. It is surrounded by two large terraces, accessed through two large doors from the house. There is a also large swimming-pool, situated just slightly down from the house.

Although relatively simple in style, the house has a distinguished air, decorated with individual touches and details from bygone years. The original tiling has been kept throughout, with different designs from room to room, providing a whole variety of colours and creating an interesting backdrop to this unique property.

From the entrance hall, the main corridor leads to the old family chapel and the main dining room and drawing room, which lead from one to the other in succession. Both the dining and drawing room open out onto a large terrace that faces south.

The kitchen, which is fully-equipped, is set back from the main reception rooms, next to a pantry and a small bathroom. Also on the ground floor, through double wooden doors, are two bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom, as do all the bedrooms in the house.

A beautiful staircase in wrought iron and marble leads to the first floor and the master bedroom suite (a large bedroom with a four-poster bed and a drawing room) and four further bedrooms. The eighth and last bedroom is on the mezzanine floor, leading up from the first to the second floor, which for the moment is unoccupied.

A surprising feature of the house is its vaulted cellars, constituting a succession of alcoves and columns, making it an ideal place to hold parties or events.

The house can accommodate a maximum of 18 people. For larger groups or families, the nearby Villa Gialla is also available for rent.
